Course Description

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) was established with a clear vision to prepare students for success in the rapidly evolving digital and security-driven global landscape. Our mission is to develop highly skilled, ethical, and industry-ready cyber security professionals through a strong academic foundation, immersive hands-on learning, and real-world exposure to contemporary cyber challenges. The curriculum is carefully designed to strengthen core competencies in computer science and cyber security while fostering innovation, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset.

With the support of dedicated faculty, advanced learning facilities, and a strong campus placement ecosystem, the department empowers students to build successful careers in areas such as ethical hacking, network security, digital forensics, threat intelligence, and cyber risk management. Program Outcomes

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

The Department of Cyber Security is committed to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, with a focused mission to prepare professionals capable of safeguarding digital infrastructures in an increasingly interconnected world. Our industry-aligned curriculum is designed to equip students with strong foundations in network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk management, and secure system design, enabling them to address complex cyber threats with confidence and precision.

Supported by a highly qualified faculty, professors of practice from the cybersecurity industry, and state-of-the-art laboratories, students gain extensive hands-on experience through advanced simulations, real-time threat analysis, cyber range exercises, and industry-integrated projects. They are encouraged to develop expertise in emerging domains such as cloud security, AI-driven threat intelligence, blockchain security, DevSecOps, zero-trust architecture, and quantum-safe cryptography.

Our vision is to evolve as a centre of excellence in Cyber Security and related research, nurturing graduates who emerge as cyber defenders, security analysts, ethical hackers, researchers, and security architects—equipped to protect digital ecosystems and contribute meaningfully to national and global cyber resilience.
