Labs

The Semiconductor Physics and Devices Laboratory provide B. Tech. students with a strong experimental foundation in modern electronic and optoelectronic technologies. The lab is designed to help students connect theoretical concepts with real-world device behaviour through a wide range of hands-on experiments.

  • Our facility is equipped to conduct key experiments such as the determination of semiconductor band gap, characterization of solar cells, study of MOSFET performance, optical fiber splicing and loss measurement, verification of Planck’s constant, the Frank–Hertz experiment, and several other foundational measurements in semiconductor Physics.
  • Through these experiments, students gain practical insight into carrier dynamics, device fabrication, electrical and optical properties of materials, and the operational principles of semiconductor devices used in modern engineering applications. The lab aims to cultivate scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of the technologies shaping today’s electronics and communication systems.
