Course Description

The Department of Computer Applications was established in 1999. We offer a two-year postgraduate degree course that is approved by AICTE and NBA-accredited.

The department aims to cultivate technology innovation. We go beyond fundamental concepts to build students’ interest in the new advancements in the field of computers. We actively promote innovative work in areas such as Android and iOS development, cloud computing, and machine learning. This focus ensures students are well-versed in the practical applications of computers.

We have a strong alumni network, with over 2000 graduates who hold reputable positions in companies across India and internationally. We are committed to providing a dynamic academic program that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st-century tech industry.

Program Outcomes

  • PO1 (Foundation Knowledge): Apply knowledge of mathematics, programming logic and coding fundamentals for solution architecture and problem solving.
  • PO2 (Problem Analysis): Identify, review, formulate and analyse problems for primarily focussing on customer requirements using critical thinking frameworks.
  • PO3 (Development of Solutions): Design, develop and investigate problems with an innovative approach for solutions incorporating ESG/SDG goals.
  • PO4 (Modern Tool Usage): Select, adapt and apply modern computational tools such as development of algorithms with an understanding of the limitations including human biases.
  • PO5 (Individual and Teamwork): Function and communicate effectively as an individual or a team leader in diverse and multidisciplinary groups. Use methodologies such as agile.
  • PO6 (Project Management and Finance): Use the principles of project management such as scheduling, work breakdown structure and be conversant with the principles of Finance for profitable project management.
  • PO7 (Ethics): Commit to professional ethics in managing software projects with financial aspects. Learn to use new technologies for cyber security and insulate customers from malware.
  • PO8 (Life-long learning): Change management skills and the ability to learn, keep up with contemporary technologies and ways of working.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Computer Applications at KIET, one of the top institutes in Ghaziabad. Since its inception in the year 1999, the department has been one of the pioneers in the Institution. It is bestowed with an experienced and motivated team of faculty members, well equipped labs with the latest configurations, and supported by a state of the art central library.

The Department operates towards the goal of providing innovative and quality education to achieve academic excellence, and provide a platform for students to achieve their career objectives. The department takes initiative to improve the soft skills, analytical capabilities, verbal communication and current industry technological skill of the students so that they can face the competition in the corporate world confidently. Students and faculty members are further motivated to organize and participate in seminars, workshops and diverse research activities. Industrial visits are a part of the academic environment.

I can ensure that many students from the department will make an indelible mark nationally and internationally in the field of Computer Science and Applications and bring laurels to themselves, to their families, to the Organization they belong to and to our country.
