No, it is not affiliated to any University, AICTE, UGC or Board. This course was started by signing MoU between Governing Council of KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad and Mercedes –Benz India Ltd.

Planning of entrance exam, curriculum design, implementation of self-reliant learning teaching methodology, providing computer-based training programs (CBTs), Workshop Information System (WIS) license, Diagnosis software (XENTRY), setting question papers, conduction of practical exams, plant visits, training at dealers’ workshops, trainer’s visit from MBIL Pune etc.

In this method, students learn through teamwork, group discussions, presenting what he/she understood, searching answers in learning materials and other sources like the internet, manuals, WIS software, Computer Based Trainings (CBTs). Teachers encourage students to develop logical skills to find answers. It is a proven method as students are able to retain knowledge as they are involved in the process.

WIS or Workshop Information system developed by MB, Germany is another backbone of this program. IT is updated from time to time. It describes all about vehicles, sub-assemblies and parts in detail.

It is 10:1. It is for both theory and practical. In traditional engineering courses, the ratio for theory is 60:1 and for practical is 20:1. Even some times it is more. Teachers’ role in this course is as facilitators. They facilitate learning. Students are allowed to do mistakes and that makes them learn. Spoon feeding, ready-made answers, etc. are discouraged.

5 out of 20. These candidates are employees of MBIL dealers. MBIL dealers sponsor the fees of such candidates. These candidates have to appear the entrance exam to prove merit. The admission is based on merit among the list of MBIL dealers’ candidates.

Diploma or degree in Engineering and Technology approved by AICTE, from Mechanical Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or any allied branch. The branches like Civil, Computer and Chemical Engg., Information Technology, etc. are NOT eligible.

NO. Such students are not offered admissions. Every candidate must submit the latest original leaving certificate at the time of admission.

Three hours. There are six sections. One can easily solve each section in 30 minutes.

There are 7 sections - Basic Automobile, Analytical reasoning, Numerical ability, Basic Physics, Basic English, Engineering drawing & Skill test.

As you learned engineering drawing in the first year of the diploma or engineering, the questions are framed to test basic competencies essential to do tasks in the course.
