UDDESHHYA is an NGO registered under Society Act 1860. The NGO is run by students of the KIET Group of Institutions, who work for the welfare of underprivileged people. Uddeshhya envisions a society where everyone lives with the basic necessities and understands that happiness lies in living for others, that's why our tagline, that says "Living for a Reason".

OUR PROJECTS:

UJAGAR: For the healthy development of a country, it is very necessary to fight the social evil and taboos that still exist in our world. Keeping this agenda in mind, Team UDDESHHYA organizes various drives and awareness campaigns for the betterment of the underprivileged as well as some targeted audiences.

UPHAAR: Clean, functional clothes are a basic human need; unfortunately, not all can afford these necessities. Keeping this in mind, every year team organizes Cloth Collection Drive so that the collected clothes can be distributed to those who are in dire need of them.

UMEED: Under this project, Team Uddeshhya teaches mess workers of our college from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. During this time we work on their academics along with some extracurricular activities. Our main motive is to show them a path for a better future.

UDAY: To give basic education to every child team UDDESHHYA started project UDAY (evening school). By teaching, we try to shape the character, caliber, and future of these children. In the hope of solving the massive social problems associated with urban poverty, we also teach and develop skills in culturally deprived children of the slums. One of our slums, where we work, is Rajnagar slum, where we teach 50 kids daily and another slum is Ravli road, where we teach approx 75 kids with proper counseling.

BLOOD PORTAL: "Blood Donation Costs You Nothing, But It Can Mean The World To Someone In Need." Blood Portal is an initiative where team UDDESHHYA collaborates with various NGOs to ensure that the blood requirement of the patient is fulfilled and reaches out to people who need blood.

ROLE OF TEAM UDDESHHYA IN COVID PANDEMIC

In the ongoing pandemic, by facing various restrictions of lockdown, Team Uddeshhya Collaborates with Zomato Feeding India and RHA (Robin Hood Army), Muradnagar for providing supplies of rations in our slums. Also, we collaborated with the Sriniwas Foundation, Ghaziabad for distributing Sanitary Napkins for our slum women.

In the second wave of the Covid Pandemic, when there was a shortage of supplies of Oxygen, hospital beds, and medicines, the team looked for every possible source and tried to help people. Many requests for blood and plasma were also coming which the team handled most effectively with limited sources available.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

• Nitish Bhaiya (a student of our night school) has finally fulfilled his dream from working as a mess worker to being an employee in a reputed company.
• Leela and Poonam, students of our evening school passed their intermediate exams with flying colors and now Leela has been admitted into IGNOU and also Poonam has been practicing for a beautician course.
• Participated in mime competition in NIT Kurukshetra and secured 2nd position.
• The team represented our college at the annual social convention KAIZEN 2020 organized by IIT Delhi on the topic of reducing microplastic.
