The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) at KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, successfully inaugrated IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter on October 21, 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 120 students and faculty members, including the Deans of various departments. The chapter began with a welcome address by Dr.Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Chapter Advisor of the IEEE CIS Student Branch Chapter. The Guest of Honour, Dr.Prerna Gaur, IEEE India Council Chair-Elect and Campus Director of NSUT, delivered an insightful speech, highlighting the collaborative culture and professional opportunities within the IEEE community. The Chief Guest, Dr.Debabrata Das, Chair of the IEEE India Council, inspired the students by emphasizing the immense value and advantages of becoming a part of the global IEEE network. Dr. Anil Kumar Ahalawat, Director Academics, encouraged students to take an active role in IEEE's technical initiatives and underscored the importance of participation in such professional events. This inaugural event was conducted under the leadership, guidance and presence of Dr.Preeti Bajaj, Director General of KIET Group of Institutions and Chair of Adhoc on Outreach and Retention Committee, IEEE Region 10 Asia-Pacific. A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of badges to the newly appointed office bearers of the IEEE CIS Student Branch Chapter, including Chair Priyanshu Mishra.
