KIET School of Pharmacy has organized a five-day Student Development Programme cum Winter School entitled “Mastering Sophisticated Analytical Instruments” during (06th -10th February-2023).

Objectives of the SDP-Cum Winter School were:

• To make students aware about the analytical instruments most commonly used in QC &
  QA.
• To make students skilled in handling the instruments.
• To make student industry ready, for best placement.

The programme was scheduled in a day-wise manner for 5 days with morning and evening shift. And the students were divided into three batches viz : Batch A, Batch B & Batch C. 62 students have participated in the training programme.

The day-to-day activity during the program from 06-02-23 to 10-02-23 is as follows:

DAY-1 (06-02-23):- On 1st day, inauguration of the program was done and a brief introduction about the conduct of the program and the sessions was given to the students by the organizing members. From 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Batch A students were given introduction and practical knowledge about FTIR by Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan and hands on training was implemented bythe students.Batch B students were given training on Flame Photometry while Batch C students were given hands on training on NIBP. After lunch break, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Batch A students had a session of training on Rheometer, Batch B students had the session of PTC and Batch C students had the session of training on FTIR by Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan.

DAY-2 (07-02-23):- During first half session, Batch A students were imparted knowledge and hands on training on NIBP, Batch B students were having session of FTIR by Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan and Batch C had the training on Rheometer. After lunch break, Batch A did the hands on training on HPLC, Batch B students were given training of Tablet punching machine while Batch C students did the session of training on Versa Track-Microbial Detector.

 DAY-3 (08-02-23):- In the morning session, Batch A students were given knowledge about Flame Photometry, Batch B students attended the Versa Track-Microbial Detector training session and Batch C students had the detailed knowledge and hands-on-training on HPLC. In the evening session, Batch A students did the work on PTC, Batch B students had a thorough knowledge about HPLC while Batch C students were given hands-on-training on Flame Photometry.

 DAY-4 (09-02-23):- During morning training session, Batch A students had training experience on U.V., Batch B students had Rheometer training session while Batch C students had PTC training experience. During evening session, Batch A students had gone under hands-on-training on Tablet Punching Machine, Batch B students went for NIBP training and Batch C students did their training on U.V.

 DAY-5 (10-02-23):- In the morning session, Batch A students were given training of Versa Track-Microbial Detector, Batch B students had training experience on U.V while Batch C students made tablets with hands-on-training session on Tablet Punching Machine. After lunch timings, their assessment was taken in the form of MCQ’s and feedback forms were also given to students to fill for future improvements and suggestions. And then, a valedictory session was also organized to distribute the certificates among the students who have attended the Five-Day SDP.

At the end of the five-day SDP, valedictory ceremony was held and the certificates weredistributed among the students to increase their motivation in the gracious presence of Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan sir-Principal -KSOP and Prof. (Dr). Ajay Kr. Shrivastava sir-Head SDFS-KIET. Two categories of certificates were distributed among the students. One wascertificate of Participation those having 100% attendance and the other certificate of Appreciation for the students who scored more than 60% in the assessment. Certificates were also given to the trainers and coordinators of the event.The SDP cum-Winter School was planned and arranged by Praveen Kumar Dixit and executed with team members Ms. Sheena Mehta, Mr. Kapil Sachan and Mr. Shubham Sharma under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan sir.
