KIET School of Pharmacy, KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad organized one day industrial visit to YAKULT DANONE PVT. LTD. SONIPAT, HARYANA on 27^th April 2023 for B. Pharm VIII Semester students wherein 65 students visited the industrial plant facility and explored the production methodology of world’s renowned probiotic brand “Yakult”.

The visit was coordinated by Ms. Vidhu Saxena, Mr. Sanjeev Chauhan, Ms. Shikha Kaushik, Mr. Pankaj and Mr. Praveen Kumar Dixit under the guidance of Principal KSOP, Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan.

As the students led by Faculty members reached the plant facility, they were welcomed by Ms. Vartika and Ms. Deepika from Administration Department, Yakult wherein they briefed about the industrial visit protocol. Post their address, the orientation session was held at the PR conference room wherein Ms. Deepika gave a thorough presentation on Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. wherein she highlighted that the organization is a 50:50 Joint Venture (JV) between Yakult Honsha in Japan and Groupe Danone in France, both of which are global probiotic leaders. The JV was formed in 2005 and Yakult, a probiotic fermented milk drink was launched in India in 2008. In 2018, Yakult Light, a reduced sugar version of Yakult, with vitamin D and E was launched. Yakult is manufactured at an ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and HACCP certified factory in Sonepat, Haryana in North India.

The orientation session was followed by visit to the production facility wherein students were explained about the key production sections like seed tank section, fermentation section, bottle manufacturing section, bottle filling section, packaging section and storage section. The queries raised by students regarding production procedure, packaging, storage, transportation, and logistics were well received and explained by the team.

The visit ended by presenting the KIET memento as a token of gratitude to Ms. Vartika, Ms. Deepika and Ms. Swati from team Yakult as a token of gratitude by Ms. Vidhu Saxena, Mr. Sanjeev Chauhan, Ms. Shikha Kaushik and Mr. Pankaj along with a group photograph.
