The Department of Computer Science organized an insightful awareness session for the students of Second Year. The session was conducted by Mr. Aryan Kaushik, student CS 4th Sem Section A who is GSoC'23 Intern at Chromium, GSoC'22 Intern at GNOME Foundation, Group Lead at GNOME Users Group, Delhi – NCR, Upcoming speaker at GUADEC, Latvia.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Arti Sharma. The session was planned for the second-year students of CS Dept. who are already studying the Operating System as a subject.
The topic of the session revolved around "Decoding Linux and its Kernel," aiming to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the Linux operating system and its core components. With Linux being widely used in the field of computer science and open-source development, the session aimed to enhance participants' knowledge and proficiency in this area.
The event kicked off with an introduction by Prof. Arti Sharma, highlighting the importance of Linux and its Kernel in the world of computing. Mr. Aryan Kaushik, then took the stage and began unraveling the intricacies of the Linux operating system.
During the session, Mr. Kaushik delved into various aspects of Linux, including its architecture, file system, process management, and scheduling techniques.
Attendees actively participated by asking questions and seeking clarifications on specific topics related to Linux and its Kernel. During session, speaker also asked questions and it was an interactive and fruitful session. Many students ask the doubts and questions which were well addressed by the speaker.
HOD-CS asked all the students to utilize this knowledge and submit an idea for future work by this week and ask them to be ready to explore new possibilities and applications in their academic pursuits.
The session concluded by giving a token of appreciation to Mr. Aryan Kaushik for sharing his valuable insights and expertise by Dr. Ajay Kumar Shrivastava, Head, CS Dept, Prof. Raj Kumar Addl. Head and Prof. Arti Sharma OCC 2nd year.
