Department has organized “Ideathon-2k23” an Idea Pitching Competition in collaboration with KIET-IIC for MCA 1^st Year Students on 14^th January 2023 at MCA Conference Hall. The objective of this competition to recognize the young talents who have made an immense contribution in creating innovative ideas. These brilliant students exhibit such qualities that will not only help them in achieving their goals, but also bring glory of success to our Institution.

The inauguration function has started at 09:30 AM with presence of Dean KIET-IIC, Dr. (Prof.) K.L.A. Khan Sir who has lighted the traditional lamp with Head, Computer Application Dr. (Prof.) Arun Kr. Tripathi, Asso. Head DSDC Prof. Prashant Agrawal and Event Coordinator Dr. Vipin Kumar. Later, Dean KIET-IIC has shared his views on how to bring innovative ideas and wished for event’s success. Also, Head, CA congratulated all students for their active involvement and student’s foremost consideration make door opens for campus placements. Then event was further briefed by Asso. Head, DSDC that this idea pitching competition has four categories: Web Application, Mobile Application, Internet of Things (IoT) and Emerging Technology (inc. Blockchain, Robotics, ML etc.). Total 39 teams have registered for this competition and judgement was based upon top three ideas from each category with cash prize of Rs. 1000/- per category. Teams had to prepare a PowerPoint presentation and they had to explain their whole idea to the judges. They were asked to explain everything about their idea that must linked with any of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Many suggestions were given by Judges to the teams on how they can improve their ideas.

This inaugural was closed with a high tea at 10:45 AM followed by teams unveiled their ideas at their destined categories. At 03:00 PM, Valedictory function has started with the aim to felicitate those winners who pitched their ideas as per category and related SDG. Function was introduced with powerful presentation of top 4 teams from each category followed by brief note of event highlights by Prof. Prashant Agrawal. Later, Director, KIET Dr. (Col.) A. Garg congratulated Department for providing such platform for innovative minds so that they may seek for possible solutions to those problems which are day-to-day challenges. After that, Dean Academics Dr. Anil K. Ahlawat gave his view on this innovative idea’s competition. He wished for the success of the event and congratulated the organizing team for such a value-adding event. Dr. Arun Kr. Tripathi encouraged students to foster a spirit of innovation and creativity that will lead to a better opportunity in terms of projects, training & placements.

During this felicitation program, certificate distribution of two more event winners were happened: CodeLock 2.0 held on 24.12.2022 and Chaitanya, Literary Fest on 31.12.2022.

In conclusion, Event Coordinator Dr. Vipin Kumar offered a vote of thanks to all audiences for gracing the event by their solemn presence. He wished and congratulated the students, faculty members, management, ITSS, Purchase, Head of Department as well as co-coordinators for the success of this event. The event was successfully ended with networking tea & Snacks.
