Brief about event (discussion points and takeaways)

The Department of IT is organized an Online Guest Lecture on “IPR Awareness Programme Under National IP Awareness Mission (NIPAM)” on Jan 24, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM for IT and CSIT 2^nd Year students. Prof. (Dr.) Adesh Kumar Pandey, HoD IT initiated the session with a warm welcome of the speakers Ms. Nitya Tyagi & Mr. Surajit Paul. After that Ms. Tyagi and Mr. Paul took over the session and briefed the audience about the terminology related to Intellectual Property. They explained various types of Intellectual Property like Patents, Designs, Geographical Indications, Copyrights and Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Layout-Design along with their criteria, procedure to file, fees and terms. They also talked about the features and importance of various types of Intellectual Property and motivated the students to apply in them with utmost sincerity. 368 students attended this session. The session concluded with a vote of thanks expressed by IT and CSIT Department.
